What and How

BEING THE CHURCH GOD DESIGNED US TO BE.

We’re not your typical youth group. Russ is not your typical youth pastor. We are doing things a little bit different because we have found that in doing it this way, it works best for our context: our students, their families and our community. 

THE FORUM

The conversation in student ministries gets started on Sundays at 1100a. It’s a laid back approach that kicks off the week. We’re not about having tons of stuff going all at once, but rather developing a concept and building multiple weeks into it. We have found it to be better to not thrown tons of information down the throats of students, but rather to toss out an idea and build upon that through teaching times, discussions and growth opportunities over the course of a particular series. So if Sundays start the conversation off, our Life Groups keep them going. 

LIFE GROUPS

We start off the week with great conversations and teaching times Sunday mornings, and continue that focus on throughout the week, building upon it on Wednesday night small groups. What works great for us is our close relationships that are built within small groups, comprising of around ten students and two adults. This is where the conversation gets more practical and real. When Jesus taught the masses, or even his disciples, it never stopped at a five minute sermon- it was the beginning of several life conversations. Life groups are that place where life can be shared on deeper levels, where we invite others into our lives and share out ours.
